FAQ

Below is a collection of the frequently asked questions we get from our clients. If you have a question that is not answered below, please contact us

  • What Service Delivery Methods Does Mind Elevation offer?

Mind Elevation provides therapeutic services through in-person weekly counseling, telehealth sessions, intensive sessions, and customized scheduling packages for clients with unique needs. The traditional care method is a 55-minute session held once a week, and these are useful for persons who are looking for consistency in weekly growth done in a steady-paced manner spread out over a longer time frame. While this has been beneficial for clients, some clients are interested in a faster-paced option and appreciate the intensive session offerings. This may be due to having a limited scheduling time frame, distance to the office  (clients travel from across Texas to meet in person with our providers), or due to a recent traumatic event and seeking immediate relief.

  • What Issues Does Mind Elevation Specialize in?

Our professionals have extensive experience and training in addressing trauma, grief, relational stress, career stress, family concerns, and related mental health challenges. We understand that the human experience is multifaceted, and each individual brings a unique combination of strengths, challenges, and circumstances. Our specialization lies in meeting individuals where they are, addressing their specific needs, and equipping them with the tools to navigate life's complexities and elevate their personal and professional well-being.

This approach emphasizes creating a collaborative and results-oriented environment rooted in respect, nonjudgement, and tailored support. By integrating evidence-based methodologies, we adapt our strategies to meet the individual’s unique goals and challenges. Whether working with clients navigating personal trauma, professional stress, grief, or relational dynamics, we focus on the therapeutic movement toward the client’s goals.

Our philosophy reflects a commitment to understanding the whole person, identifying core challenges, and guiding our clients toward sustainable growth and resilience—both in their personal lives and professional roles.

  • What Therapeutic Approaches Does Mind Elevation use?

Our providers employ several evidence-based approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and  Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS),  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT),  Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), attachment-based therapy, Christian Counseling, Parent-Child Interaction  Therapy (PCIT), motivational interviewing, Play Therapy in our well-equipped play therapy room, Sandtray Therapy, and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy.

  • Does Mind Elevation Offer Telehealth Services?

Yes, Mind Elevation provides telehealth counseling sessions, allowing clients to receive support remotely. The telehealth platform is built into the electronic health record system and accessed through the Client Portal.

  • What is Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, and is it Available?

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a therapeutic approach that interweaves ketamine administration (administered under the care of a medical doctor, the preferred method is through IV) with psychotherapy sessions to maximize the effectiveness of both interventions. Brandi is trained in KAP and offers this service to eligible clients.

  • Why Do You Prefer Not to Use Insurance for Therapy Sessions?

At Mind Elevation Counseling, we prioritize providing a high-end, personalized therapeutic experience tailored to each client’s needs. Choosing a private-pay model allows us to offer extended session times, flexible scheduling, and access to advanced therapeutic modalities without the limitations imposed by insurance companies.

Insurance providers often dictate session length, frequency, and treatment approaches, which can compromise the quality and confidentiality of care. Additionally, insurance billing requires a mental health diagnosis to justify treatment, which becomes a part of your permanent medical record. Insurance companies may require detailed justifications for ongoing treatment, and they can deny coverage if they determine that therapy or interventions are not "medically necessary." This can place undue pressure on the therapist to align treatment with insurance criteria rather than the client's unique needs. Many of our clients value the discretion and autonomy that private pay provides, ensuring they receive the best care without third-party interference.

  • What are the Office Hours?

Office hours are by appointment only. Appointments are offered Monday-Thursday, 9am-4pm, and intensives are typically scheduled on Fridays. Alternative session times can be made through the customized scheduling packages at an enhanced rate. It is recommended to contact the office to discuss scheduling options.

  • Is the Client Portal Used for Emergencies?

No, the Client Portal is not intended for emergencies. If you or someone else is in immediate danger or experiencing a medical/mental health emergency, please call 911 (local law enforcement) or 988 (Suicide and Crisis Hotline) immediately. The Client Portal is HIPAA compliant and used by clients to provide requested updates to providers or discuss scheduling concerns.

  • How Do You Ensure Client Confidentiality and Privacy?

Client confidentiality and privacy are of utmost importance. Mind Elevation adheres strictly to legal and ethical standards, including HIPAA, to protect all client information. Our sessions are held in a secure, private environment, and any documentation or records are stored securely. Information is disclosed only when required by law or with your written consent. The limits of confidentiality will be further explained in the initial session, and you are welcome to ask any questions regarding this to the provider in a pre-therapy consult call to assess for a good-fit between the client and counselor.

We understand that individuals in public roles may have heightened concerns about privacy. Ensuring your confidentiality is paramount. While we do adhere strictly to legal and ethical standards to protect all client information, we highly encourage you to schedule a consult to develop a personalized plan that further safeguards your comfort and sense of privacy throughout the therapeutic process.
